Ok, so here's the deal. I haven't posted in a while and so i'm goign to explain how things work. While i post my pictures, the first picture of the series will be farther down on the page - so if you want to read the stories correctly you should scroll down so you don't read the stories and see the pictures backwards, get it?
but now i'm goign to cheat and tell you about what i did on monday, then i'm goign to make you scroll down and read the stories about sheree pletts new recording.
on Monday i got to go SNOWBOARDING! my friend court and i got to go up to grouse and take in some amazing night riding. The conditions were perfect, the sunset, the vancouver skyline, you name it! SO AMAZING! it was so much fun! we had such good times. When we went in for dinner the cafeteria was closed so we had to eat dinner in this fancy restaurant. we just got natchos - they were good... except for the scallions... and the bean dip that we found in the bottom... ew.

The Barn Tour

why am i so sore?
Recording day 2.
Last night we worked until about 2 am just getting drum sounds. When you get that tired though - you start to run in circles and start to over think things. Anyways, by the time this morning (10am start) rolled around wee seeemed to get the sounds undercontrol. It's sounding great.
Here's a funny story from yesterday about getting here. Originally Christian (the producer/engineer) had told us that there was a direct ferry from Tsawassen to Salt Spring Island at 4:25pm... well, long story short, there wasn't. We ended up taking the 5pm ferry to Schwartz bay (victoria) and had planned on taking the 7pm jumper fairy over to SSI. However, by the time we turned around and got back in line for the jumper fairy it was almost full. Infact, we were the first car that didn't make it on, so we had to wait until 9 pm for the next jumper fairy. Oh well, c'est la vie
Anyways, i'm going to try and do this place some justice with some photographs, but i'm sure it won't do.

Well folks, thanks for all your posts in the previous topic. I feel that some good contributions to the conversation were made.
But now onto the real story... because i can...
This story won't do the experience much justice because the only tool i currently have are these words... being typed on a keyboard connected to an older imac, plugged into a wall of a building that was once destined to be an Emu Barn.
However, it's not an Emu barn, it happens to be a recording studio on Salt Spring Island, where my band is recording a 'test track' The studio belongs to Randy Bachman (aint seen nothin yet, american woman, takin care of business - he wrote those). My friend Christian is his head engineer - He invited us out to do some recording.
The studio is such an amazing space, i'll for sure take some pictures with my camera, and post some videos from my ol' camera phone.
The 'because i can...' phrase has been said a lot today... for instance, i took a shower in this RAD bathroom which is like a rock wall bathroom with an open shower. While i was showering i turned around and saw a set of congas (which for whatever reason were in the bathroom) and saw some writing on them - FREAKING RINGO STARS AUTOGRAPH!! haha, is that not insane... i took the shower 'because i could'... right now we have a 15,000 microhone in the same bathroom to pick up ambient drum noises... 'because we can'... CRAZY
Anyways, more to come, i'll post a few more times this weekend - no pictures till at least monday night.
